The inaugural 6-week season for Miracle League of San Francisco Peninsula was successfully concluded on October 21st at Hawes Park in Redwood City. Two youth teams composed of 20 players total and two adult teams made up of 33 players total had a blast playing baseball and building community at “Little Fenway Park”. There were many highlights but the most important one was seeing players enjoy the great game of baseball while encouraging each other regardless of who they were or which team they were on. Fan support was also great, both in number and how everyone sat together and cheered for and celebrated with all the participants. During the course of the season, there were special guest volunteers including baseball players from Stanford and Santa Clara Universities. There was even a “celebrity” volunteer pitcher for several weeks, Joe Biagini of the Toronto Blue Jays. The season would not have been possible without the 43 “Buddy” volunteers who partnered with the players and 28 other volunteers who did everything else that was needed. A special thanks to the City of Redwood City’s Parks & Recreation Department that provided the field and additional support.

Thank you for your

"... As a volunteer, I went in trying to offer any help I could and make an impact on other people. But as I reflected on being there, I realized how much the kids, their families, and the board made an impact on me. I was very appreciative of the Miracle League giving me the opportunity to be around a community that wants to have fun playing a great game. Seeing the excitement on the kids' faces when they’d score a run is something I’ll never forget. The miracle league reminded me of the importance to be fully invested in the present. "
