Buddies are an integral part of our mission, and it is what makes Miracle League so special for our players.  Our goal is to have a 1:1 buddy for each player on the field.  While each player needs varying degrees of support based on their individual needs, all of our players enjoy getting to know their buddy friend throughout the season.  We try to pair the buddies who can attend most often with the same player in order to develop rapport and a friendship.   Ideally buddies can attend at least 4 of 6 games during the season. 

However, whether it is just one or two games, or multiple, we welcome your participation and are grateful that you can come out and join us on the field!

•The Youth Game warm ups begin at 1:00 pm, and the game runs from 1:30 pm - 2:30 pm.  Please plan to arrive at 12:45 pm for orientation.  

•The Adult Game warm ups begin at 2:00 pm, and the game runs from 2:30 pm - 3:30 pm.  Please plan to arrive at 1:45 pm for orientation.

BUDDIES:

Youth Game:  the minimum age for being a buddy is 12 years old

Adult Game:  the minimum age for being a buddy is 16 years old

      *However, 12-15 year olds can be a buddy for the Adult Game if accompanied by a parent/guardian who also registers as a Buddy for that game.

VOLUNTEERS:

The minimum age to be a general volunteer is 12 years old.

Assistant Coaches must be a minimum of 16 years old. 

All buddies and volunteers over the age of 18 are required to do a background check.  The background check is free, can be done at home, and takes less than five minutes.  Once you have a background check on file with Miracle League, it is valid for 3 years.

There are more ways to get involved with the Miracle League than just being a buddy. We also have many other volunteer positions that we would love your help with! Please see below for descriptions and times for all the of the different volunteer jobs that we need filled  for each gameday. When you sign up as a volunteer in our registration portal you can sign up for the dates and jobs that you are interested in. 

VOLUNTEER JOB DESCRIPTIONS:

Set-Up Help: 11:45 am - 1:00 pm

Help prepare infield, set up outfield fence, set up warm-up and game equipment.

Check-In Help - Youth Game (under 18) 12:45 pm - 1:45 pm  Check-in Help - Adult Game (18 and over) 1:45 pm - 2:45 pm

Help check-in players, buddies and volunteers; help players get uniforms and gloves and guide them to their warm up area. 

Announcer - Youth Game (under 18) 1:15 pm - 2:30     Announcer - Adult Game (18 and over) 2:15 pm - 3:30 pm

Introduce players as they come to home plate, provide play by play and color commentary using amplified sound system.  You will be guided by the field coordinator.

Assistant Coach - Youth Game (under 18) 12:50 pm - 2:30 pm Assistant Coach - Adult Game (18 & over) 1:50 pm - 3:30 *minimum age to be an assistant coach is 16 years old

Each year we need four assistant coaches for each game.  Assistant coaches help the head coach during warm-ups, pair players with their buddies, support buddy-player interaction on the field and in the dugout, direct the batting line-up, ensure safety for participants and most importantly build team spirit!  Ideally, assistant coaches can attend at least 4 games during the season, but we welcome any help!

Clean-Up Crew 3:15 - 4:15 pm

Help put away equipment, move fences and assist in getting supplies back to our shed.
